WEEK 7
Location/Prompt:
Various, absurd locations inside or outside of the house. Facing and spacing don't matter. (You don't have to face back like I am here.) Read all the way down before you pick your spot, so you find something that will work well for each shot. *These can be broken up into separate shots or done together. First Shot (A): While our previous outdoor shots were meant as daydreams we're having during our normal daily life... this one should show a moment of goofy reality. Essentially, it's the best we can do while stuck at home, and should be humorous. Find a place that is ridiculous to dance in/on/around and have fun with your moves. This should represent us finally able to blow off steam from the monotony while no one is looking. Maybe you are hanging your upper body out a window or kicking your legs out the car door (while it's parked, please), maybe you're in the shower, in a closet, or flopping around on your bed. The wackier, the better. Try to look like you're having more fun than I do here (I wasn't thinking about the acting when I filmed these). Smile and lose yourself in the silliness of the situation. Give me somewhere between 30 and 60 seconds of crazy movement. First Shot (B): Come to rest as something catches your eye off-camera. Turn your head to look at it... if you are outside, turn to look toward a neighboring house. If you are inside, try to have a window nearby. Either lean in to look (if you are close) or walk over to look out (if you are farther away). Second Shot: Change the angle of the camera (if needed) so we see a final close-up shot of your face looking out the window or toward the neighboring house. Pause, smile at the imaginary neighbor, pause. You may choose to add a small nod or wave here. *I'll edit this to look like you've caught each other having your separate, goofy moments, and have a chance to acknowledge the situation. We want to end feeling that we're all in this together, no matter how ridiculous it may seem at times. Linger a bit, and then you can choose to walk away after a few seconds or continue looking at the end. Without acting too much, try to keep the pleasant feeling through to the end, as if it made you feel better to see that someone else is also going through something similar to you. |
