Praise for Palisade...

The Dance Enthusiast by Gorgas
July 2011
"Palisade, the newest work by choreographer Becky Radway for her eponymous dance company, was presented…alongside her 2009 work Roam, as 'a pair of works on wandering and open spaces (or a lack thereof)' and she’s found some novel ways to address the problem. One, by dancing on top of fellow performer Carton Ward in an achingly arching and reaching duet where for eight minutes Ms. Radway does not touch the ground. This seamless marriage of expression and acrobatics is easily the most breathtaking moment of the evening, in a night filled with performers vacillating between the sumptuous and the physical."

"... she beautifully channels the connectedness that makes a home a home through the raw materials of visceral connections, physical touch, comfort, and exploration of the body and mind played out by Radway and three other extraordinary dancers."
"... To watch him is to feel intimately connected with movement that happens not because it is learned, and demanded, and executed for the needs of an audience, but extracted from his being because containing it would be too much, containing it would be like never exhaling."
"... not a moment exists without something profoundly interesting happening on the stage."

The Dance Enthusiast by Gillian Vinton

"...The four performers inhabit Radway’s theatrical acrobatic choreography with impressive conviction. ...moments that could have become melodramatic or cliché were balanced by both the integrity of the performers and the excellent staging."
"...Radway is no minimalist, yet no detail seemed extraneous. In fact, the original score, lighting, set design, and choreography took a journey over the course of time similar to that of the characters; each started off separate and incomplete, but combined, they formed a quirky and enjoyable whole."
"...Overall, each element came together to create a wonderfully paced dance/theater event.
It was a treat to see so much thought going into every aspect of the performance. "

Praise for Roam...
"The sixth annual Cool New York 2009 Dance Festival...of modern dance with a select few pieces that truly shine.
Talented Becky Radway choreographs and performs in Roam.... Set to the calm and steady beat of folk-pop duo Chris and Thomas’s “Broken Chair,” the piece features (three) women gracefully sauntering across the stage as the lyrics flow: “Maybe it’s time for anything at all, Time to let it all fall where it may.” It’s a relaxing and peaceful experience. As the music changes, Leonides Arpon joins in as a technically savvy dancer who moves about the stage with sprite-like agility."

Praise for Tomorrow...
"Rebecca Radway's Tomorrow, for herself and Kate (Martel), was a moody kind of dance, belonging to the odd category of opaque dance-drama, where emotions takes turns with neat moves. Radway and (Martel) are both strong young dancers."

Praise for Postcards...
"Very successful piece! Both dancers have appropriate casual style (while doing some truly amazing movement) to convey a human encounter/relationship. Difficulty of partner work is a beautiful metaphor that draws me in. It is my story, too; the trials and triumphs of love. Thank You."
"Excellent - sensual and very engaging - wonderful movement."
"The strength and trust in partnering kept me interested the whole time. The music was a perfect choice."
"Nostalgic and sweet. Strong dancing. Great performance and presence."
